Translational Research

Translational research is commonly defined as research that is taken from the labs and brought directly into use with the patients. It is also referred to as the "bench-to-bedside" approach. Departments and laboratories at John Wayne Cancer Institute regularly collaborate with each other so that new findings can be used throughout the institute. Translational research happens every day at John Wayne Cancer Institute, as knowledge from the labs is funneled to our doctors enabling our patients to get the most up to date treatments possible. Translational research keeps John Wayne Cancer Institute at the cutting edge of medicine at all times.
